The huge Update and 56kers
Hey, since this website is becoming harder and harder to load and the search engine only returns random results....i wanted to know if you need to let the update download at the logon screen continuously, and not in parts.
I have been downloading it the past 3 nights and got about 130 mb a night. But im not sure if its starting over again and again. If anyone knows the answer, thanks. I just hope im not wasteing my time starting over and over... |

No I am pretty sure it doesn't "start over". That would be nuts.
Off-topic comment, but GW is down (072) and for the reasons of the economy crash someone posted about, and now GW forums are down because everyone is rushing to check out what the heck is going on. I am getting GW withdrawl! |

I know what it means - I assumed it indirectly from the cause.

They are restoring the game to it's normal state around 1 hour before the market was reset. EAST American Time that's GMT -5, so 16:00, or 4:00 PM. Pacific is GMT -8, so that's 1:00 PM. Does that answer your question?

I don't believe that the downlaod starts all over again. Because that would just be completely unfair to 56k people. And while I'm not on 56k, I have heard that the download for the faction pvp preview was huge and and people on dial up was still able to download it and play.
A bit off topic, the rollback I believe simply restores the game to a previous time, which means if you spent your money buying runes or shards, or a shadowbow, the items will be gone, but the money will be returned to you also. |

Thanks, glad to know that i wont have to re-locate my laptop to someones house with cable . The download should be done soon, if this is correct.
And about the roll back, i think it would be pretty lame for Anet to let people keep their 250+ shards and runes...and i also missed it, but i would still feel the same way if i too were hordeing items. |
